WARNING: Only read if you're rich or wouldn't mind living on the street
So you missed out on the newest pair of Air Jordan's to hit the market. What do you do now? The main thing is to not worry and go on eBay and get killed on resell fees but instead be patient; you've still got options. If you follow these few tips to stay up to date on everything going on in the sneaker world, you'll have more opportunity's to get hot and rare shoes than you have money to buy them, trust me. So what do you do?
Get a Twitter
The most important tool you have at your disposal is twitter. There are sneaker heads who literally do nothing but post deals on shoes, restocks, and resells. Most of the deals are either legitimate shoe websites that just put a shoe on sale, or just had a shoe come back in stock. The people who get these kinds of restocks are the people following twitter. The first thing you need to do once you have a twitter is just search for jordan restock. Find the first real restock posts you see and follow who tweeted it. Find more and more people who posted restocks and deals and follow them. Then you can see all of their new tweets in your feed on your homepage. This is where the deals and restocks are found. If you really want to be on top of it, get the twitter app for your phone.
Once you have a twitter, get tweetdeck
Tweetdeck is a website that helps you manage your twitter. You can save searches, see your home feed, and check recent activity and messages all from one screen, updated in live time. This is essential if you want restocks the second they hit.
Get a Page Monitor
The last thing you need to do to be on top of the restock and shoe deal game is to get a page monitor. All this does is store pages you tell it to and refreshes them at a certain time you specify (like every 5 seconds) to see if the page has been updated. This will help you get restocks before twitter even knows about it, which if its on twitter may already be too late. The key is to monitoring pages that have the shoes you want on them, even pages that go down when shoes are sold out, because when they come back in stock its always at the same URL. The page monitor I use is an extension add on for Google Chrome.
If you follow these steps and build your follower base on twitter you're definitely going to find restocks and deals on shoes literally as soon as possible.
